This is the story of two women, Seo Jung Eun and Han Yoo Kyung, who go very different ways to achieve their desires. Seo Jung Eun is a strong and courageous woman who has lived a difficult life, grown up in an orphanage, but continues to embrace the people around her, despite the yearning for affection. Young Eun hopes she will meet her mother when she becomes a star. Endeavoring to reach their goal and to overcome their suffering through their pure and innocent nature. In contrast, Han Yoo Kyung has a birth secret for which she wants to throw everything away to avenge herself. The "Thorn Birds" of the title refer to the figure of Jung Eun, who gives her best only at the expense of great pain. A thorn bird is a mythical bird looking for a thorn tree from its birth. When he finds it, the bird pokes himself on the sharpest thorn and rises over the agony to sing the most beautiful song ever heard.
