An old man who lives on the island of Mireukdo, lives a self-sufficient life and adheres to ascetic principles that are typical of a monk. Every now and then the telephone rings and shortly thereafter a visitor arrives; The old man dutifully prepares rice cakes for them. The cakes are the last meal these visitors will eat before embarking on the seemingly long way to the next world. The first to arrive is an angler, then one Rat and the last a teacher and two students. Despite these few characters, the film creates a mysterious atmosphere by capturing moving views of the ocean, forests, insects, goats and other similar images. In "eyelids" Mireukdo takes a strange time and an unusual space; It is neither of this world nor of the next. Instead, it serves as the last tranquil and heartbreaking comfort zone for those whose lives have been wrongly taken. This is not the first push by Director O Muel into such an empire. In 2012, he made the award-winning "Jiseul," which also represents a great soul relationship between the two.
