Sin (Jang Dong Gun, who also played the lead role in Friend), a North Korean who attempted to go south with his family as a child, was betrayed, however, resulting in his parents' death. Sin plunders genocidal revenge, attacks a group of Thai pirates and steals an American ship carrying nuclear equipment secretly manufactured in Taiwan. He is being followed by Kang Se Jong (Lee Jeong Jae, also in the romantic hit "Il Mare" in 2000), a naval officer who tries to bring Sin to justice, but who begins to understand and even sympathizes with his enemy.
