
Lee Yul is the Crown Prince of Joseon, a perfectionist who ignores the majority of those in the royal palace and feels cold and demanding when he is truly lonely. One day he passes a law stating that all Korean citizens of marriageable age must do so before they reach the age of 28.
Hong Shim is a strong, intelligent woman who takes on several jobs to support herself her father. She is also the oldest unmarried woman in her village and needs a husband to avoid penalties from judicial officials.
In an attack, Lee Yul is badly injured and under the supervision of Hong Shim and Hong Sim's father. Due to his injuries, Lee Yul temporarily develops amnesia and wanders aimlessly as a citizen with no name or identity. Because of the law passed by Lee Yul, he and Hong Shim are forced to marry each other to save Hong Shim from being punished and her village from drought.
What follows is the love story of Hong Shim, "Joseon's oldest unmarried wife" and Lee Yul, the Amnesian crown prince.
