In February 2013, Anaïs Bordier, a London-based French fashion student, came across a YouTube video featuring Samantha Futerman, an actress in Los Angeles, and was impressed by her uncanny resemblance. After finding out that they were born on the same day in Busan, Korea, and both were released for adoption, Anaïs reached out to Samantha via Facebook. In Twinsters, we follow the journey of Samantha and Anaïs to the Sisterhood and experience everything from the beginning Meeting for her first trip to Korea, where her separation took place.
In a collaboration between the United States, France, Korea and the United Kingdom, "Twinsters" explores the importance of family and connection through a story that would not have been possible ten years ago without the creation of YouTube and Facebook.
