In 1995, the expedition team of the Korean Alpine Club traveled to Pakistan to board the Gasherbrum 4. While the harsh preparations for the new route have been made, another expedition to Base Camp has arrived for the same peak. At the center of this Slovenian expedition was "Slavko Svetičič" with the goal of climbing Gasherbrum 4 alone. During the base camp, these two expeditions from different countries stay together and build each other up Friendship. During the climb to reach the top, the Korean expedition last saw Slavko on the rise. After that, there was no radio contact with Slavko, he was lost. After Slavko disappeared, the Korean expedition made a copper plate as a keepsake and offered a memorial ceremony on the mountain. As the bad weather continued, the Korean expedition failed to reach the summit this year. Two years later, in 1997, the Korean expedition challenged Gasherbrum 4 again. At the end of the effort, they finally reached the summit with the new route called "Korean Direct". Descending at 7200 m, they struck Slavko's body, which was exposed by the melting of snow. They took a piece of rope from Slavko as a souvenir for his family, and this same rope could be useful for the expedition in a dangerous situation on the way down the mountain.
