Ok Hee, a 6-year-old girl, lives with her mother, grandmother and housekeeper in a village known as the Widow's House. Their real, feminine life is interrupted when Mr. Han, a friend of relatives, comes to live with them as a frontier worker. Ok Hee immediately accepts the man, and they develop a special bond. Okay, Hee's mother and Mr. Han also have feelings for each other - mostly from a distance - with the little Ok Hee, to bring love letters together. Although Okhee's mother is a young widow who spends much of her life, she is tormented by her need to be a widow because of her mother-in-law and daughter. If Mr. Han confesses his love for her in a love letter, will Ok Hee's mother have the courage to overcome social pressure and accept his love?
