Lee Kang Hun, a senior medical graduate, works at the top hospital and is the premier neurosurgeon in the area. He has the ambition to become director at his university hospital. After an incident that happened with his father at a young age, he has vowed to become the country's best neurosurgeon, which is why he is obsessed with success, which is probably his greatest strength as he does it steely and violent.

Kim Sang Chul is the spiky geniologist and world famous neurologist. He hates Kang Hun's methods and he's determined to change him. There is a hidden past between him and Kang Hun, a past that kept Sang Chul secret for too long.

Yoon Ji Hye is also a neurosurgeon who grew up in an ordinary family. She is extremely strict in terms of work and study, but has a warm bed feeling in her patients. She also has a strong feeling towards Kang Hun.

Seo Joon Suk (who was born into a medical family and had great support from his father) is Lee Kang Hoon's rival, as he is the one most abhorred by Kang Hun. Therefore, Joon Suk wants to prove that he is no less talented than Kang Hunne. The woman who loves Joon Suk is Yoon Ji Hye.

Jang Yoo Jin is the illegitimate daughter of a rich man whom Kang-hoon treated. She started liking Kang Hun and decided to help him achieve his goals.

This drama revolves around the (mostly psychological) struggle between these characters and the place where their ambitions will lead them.
